Position Summary

The Benefits Analyst assists in the planning, design, implementation and administration of cost-effective employee benefit programs consistent with company objectives.  Responsible for overseeing the administration of the company’s domestic health and welfare benefit plans.

*This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite at our Mentor, OH Corporate HQ, 2 days a week. (Tuesday & Thursday). This schedule and these requirements can change at any time based on business and/or company needs.

What you'll do as a Benefits Analyst

  • Utilize strong working knowledge of employee benefits to assist in the design, planning and administration of corporate employee benefit programs.
  • Primary individual responsible for overseeing the administration of the company’s health and welfare plans and programs, including medical, prescription drug, dental, life insurance, disability income programs, flexible spending accounts and tuition reimbursement for domestic employees and retirees.  Responsibilities include annual renewals and contracts, preparing applicable annual governmental reporting, tracking cost trends, recommending plan changes to ensure they remain competitive and cost-effective and plan communication. 
  • Manage the annual benefits open enrollment process including plan and employee communication, coordinating tasks internally and externally and ensuring that HRIS and vendors are updated with employee enrollments and costs.
  • Work with outside vendors, insurance providers and legal counsel on plan modifications, communications and annual renewals.
  • Develop, produce and distribute ongoing employee health and welfare plan communications such as summary plan descriptions, handbook inserts, benefit bulletins, orientation materials, etc.
  • Prepare cost analysis of employee health and welfare benefits including calculating annual benefit premiums, employee contributions, and benefit budget by plan and location.
  • Responds to claim and benefit design/policy issues in conjunction with the Human Resource generalist.
  • Participate in various employee benefit surveys, summarize the results and develop recommendations to maintain competitive, cost-effective benefits.
  • Manage the tuition reimbursement process including communicating and administrating the program.
  • Insure timely, accurate vendor payments.
  • Identify, suggest and implement ongoing process improvements.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in Benefits.
  • In lieu of degree 6 years’ of benefits administration experience will be accepted.

Preferred

  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)

Skills

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and develop positive working relationships with both internal and external vendors and customers.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, set priorities, organize, implement and administer effectively in all areas of accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability in dealing with different levels of employees in a fast-paced environment and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee data.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially spreadsheets, databases and word processing.
  • Strong oral, written and math skill.
  • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.

Pay range for this opportunity is $67,362.50 - $83,212.50. This position is eligible for bonus participation. 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
