What To Expect
Consider before submitting an application:

This position is expected to start August/September 2025 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e. through approx December 2025) or into Winter/Spring 2026 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

What You'll Do

Perform firmware and control validation of next generation Tesla industrialenergy storageDevelop test infrastructure pipeline to validate functionality on various platform such as buck, Control HIL etc.Develop and maintain test scripts to run automated firmware tests using Python librariesTest execution for fw/sw feature validation with continuous feedback for feature documentationIdentify, escalate, and resolve issues with hardware and firmware during system bring up, utility performance, and grid contingency testHands-on testing, debugging and troubleshooting on product hardware and software

What You'll Bring

Pursuiring a degree in Engineering or related field Familiar with Python or C codeExceptional analytical problem solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex HW/SW systemsEffective communicator and excellent attention to detailPreferable knowledge of at least two power system modelling and HIL tools: PSCAD/EMTP-RV, RTDS, Typhoon, OPAL-RTFluent with the embedded microprocessor design process: compilers, debuggers, and GitHands-on experience with electrical and software engineering components and an understanding of how they interact in a complex productExpert knowledge of at least two power system modelling and HIL tools: PSCAD/EMTP-RV, RTDS, Typhoon, OPAL-RTExperience to work with database with common tool (SQL, InflexDB, Grafana)Comfortable with hands-on lab work including the use of scopes/logic analyzers, CAN tools as needed to support test validationFluent with the embedded microprocessor design process: compilers, debuggers, and Git

Expected Compensation

$20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
