Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join our production team. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and ensure product quality. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Analyze production workflows and identify areas for improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Implement and maintain production tooling, fixtures, and automation equipment.
  • Collaborate with design engineers on new product introductions (NPI) to ensure manufacturability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for process-related issues.
  • Support daily production activities and provide technical guidance to operators and technicians.
  • Monitor and report on manufacturing metrics such as cycle time, yield, and scrap rates.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role (entry-level positions may require internships or co-op experience).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Certification, or PMP.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, automation, and robotics is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily on-site at a manufacturing facility.
  • Occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations may be required.
  • Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting in a production environment.
