Rate of pay: $25.50/hr.
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing the curriculum, instructing and coordination of academic afterschool programs.

Must be a state certified teacher with a minimum of one year teaching experience. Upon hire, must complete Principles of Youth Development, Intro to the Ys Cause & Culture; Y's Way to Service & Engagement; I Hear You: Service with CARE; Orientation to Diversity, Inclusion, and Global; Living Our Cause for Frontline Leaders. Get SMART, CPR/AED and First Aid preferred.
Special Skills Or Equipment Required Must be able to articulate and communicate effectively with school employees, parents and students. Must have a positive attitude and ability to work independently.
Physical And/Or Mental Requirements Must have the ability and patience to instruct classes while using effective communication and human relation skills. Must have the ability to conduct, demonstrate and safely lead a classroom of adults and/or children. Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs.
Job Duties - *Serve as a liaison between school and afterschool program in efforts to help align the school day with the afterschool program
- *Serve as a member of key staff team committed to the mission, goals and objectives of the YMCA and the tutoring program
- *Assist in managing the tutoring component of the program
- *Coordinate educational resources at the site and assist with maintaining tutoring records
- Assist in identifying the needs of the youth and communicate with the school day teachers
- Facilitate lessons for each child that aligns with the child's need
- *Assist in organizing tutor schedules
- Assist in recruiting children in need of academic support
- Coordinates and schedules student pre and post testing assessment testing
- Assists with planning enrichment activities
- Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct. Keep supplies organized, maintain and clean facility and care for equipment.
