Red Seat Ventures is seeking a skilled Video Editor to join our fast-paced production team. This role is responsible for preparing in-show elements, delivering high-quality post-production edits, and creating compelling clips for social media platforms. The ideal candidate thrives under tight deadlines, has a sharp editorial eye, and can adapt content for broadcast, digital, and social audiences.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
In-Show Element Preparation: Edit and assemble packages, opens, teases, bumpers, chyrons, and other visual elements for live broadcasts.
Post-Production: Work with producers to refine and finalize show segments, ensuring visual consistency, pacing, and accuracy.
Social Media Editing: Repurpose show content into short-form clips optimized for platforms like Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
Graphics & Visual Integration: Collaborate with the graphics team to utilize branded templates to create in-show elements, lower thirds, animations, and other visual features.
Breaking News Support: Quickly cut and deliver urgent video content for immediate broadcast or digital release.
Media Management: Organize, archive, and maintain video assets for easy retrieval and reuse.
Editorial Collaboration: Work closely with producers, writers, and control room staff to align edits with the show’s tone and editorial standards.
Quality Control: Review all edits for technical accuracy, legal compliance, and audio/visual quality before delivery.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
3+ years of professional editing experience in a news, broadcast, or digital media environment.
Proficiency in industry-standard editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro required; After Effects and Photoshop a plus).
Strong understanding of broadcast and digital video formats, aspect ratios, and codecs.
Ability to work under intense daily deadlines while maintaining accuracy and creativity.
Sharp editorial instincts and familiarity with news production workflows.
Bachelor’s degree in film, journalism, communications, or related field preferred.
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
Experience editing both long-form news segments and short-form social clips.
Motion graphics skills and familiarity with branded visual packages.
Knowledge of political and current affairs content is a plus.
